Building Skill video: Applied Behavior Analysis

Individual education plan IEP -Inspired Story.

About the video:

In this short film, we follow Aryan, a middle school student who uses a creative Ghostbusters-themed plan to recognize his emotions, take charge of his health, and ask for support when needed.

Through the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Aryan learns that true strength comes from knowing when to reach out — and how to advocate for himself with pride and confidence.

This story celebrates small victories, teamwork, and believing in every student’s ability to lead their own journey.

Special Thanks:

Aryan and his amazing family Ms. Khan and the Support Team Mr. Lewis, Assistant Principal Our incredible paraprofessionals All our students who inspire us every day Ghostbusters™ for the creative inspiration!

Key Message:

“Empowerment begins when we teach students that asking for help is not a weakness — it’s a superpower.”

End. Next.

Intro Speech for Film Presentation

(Walk up calmly, smile warmly at the audience.)

You:

“Good evening everyone, and thank you for joining us.”

“Tonight, we want to share a story — not just about education, but about empowerment.

It’s about a young student, Aryan, and how, through creativity, Applied Behavior Analysis — or ABA therapy — and a little Ghostbusters magic, he learned something many adults still struggle with: how to recognize his feelings and ask for help.”

“In special education, success is built one small victory at a time. Every signal, every choice, every moment of bravery is a giant step toward independence.”

“Our film shows how, with a caring team, a clear plan, and respect for a student’s individuality, we don’t just teach skills — we build heroes.”

“So, without further delay, we invite you to meet Aryan — our very own Ghostbuster — in Busting Ghosts, Building Skills.”

(Pause, smile, and nod to cue the film.)

Outro Speech for Film Presentation

(Step back up after the applause fades, voice warm and reflective.)

You:

“Thank you for watching.”

“What you just saw was bigger than one student’s story.

It’s a reminder that every child — no matter their diagnosis, no matter their challenges — deserves the tools, the trust, and the belief to build their own life.”

“With the right supports, patience, and creativity, we don’t just manage behaviors — we unleash courage, communication, and confidence.”

“Aryan’s journey shows us that when we meet students where they are, when we honor their voices — even when those voices come through a tap, a badge, or a look — we change lives.”

“Today, let’s leave here remembering: We are all Ghostbusters. Every day, we help our kids bust fear, isolation, and doubt — and build futures filled with pride, connection, and hope.”

(Pause, sincere smile.)

“Thank you.”
