A Tale of a Giving Dheki-Rice Grinder.
Once upon a time in a small village in Bangladesh, nestled between lush green fields and flowing rivers, there lived Dheki, the tireless rice grinding machine.
Dheki was no ordinary machine. Made of strong, sturdy wood, it had a long handle and a heavy stone that would pound rice tirelessly. Dheki was known throughout the village for its unwavering dedication to its job. It was said that even if Dheki were to visit heaven, it would not stop working, for heaven would not remain heaven without Dheki’s work.

The Story Begins:
Narrator 1: One sunny morning, Asha and Rupai ran to Dadi Ma’s house. They loved listening to her stories while Dheki worked tirelessly in the background.
“Asha, Rupai, do you know the story of Dheki?” Dadi Ma began, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
“Tell us, Dadi Ma!” they chorused, their eyes wide with excitement.
“Once upon a time,” Dadi Ma started, “Dheki was invited to heaven by the gods. But Dheki, being so devoted to its job, couldn’t stop working. It knew that without its effort, the villagers wouldn’t have their delicious rice to eat.”
Asha giggled, “Even in heaven, Dheki has to work?”
“Yes,” Dadi Ma smiled. “Dheki is tireless, just like God who never sleeps. If Dheki stops working, the balance of heaven and earth would be disrupted. Just imagine, even the gods love the taste of rice prepared by Dheki.”
Suddenly, Chutki the Clay Pot, who was always cheerful, chimed in, “I love being filled with the delicious rice Dheki prepares. It makes me feel so useful!”
Kamal the Kite, swooping down from the sky, added, “I watch from above and see how happy the villagers are when they have enough rice. Dheki’s work makes the whole village smile.”
Ghora the brother Pot, always steady and supportive, nodded, “Dheki leans on me for support, and together we make sure the job gets done perfectly.”
Pala the Paddle, Dheki’s best friend, grinned, “We work together seamlessly. Dheki grinds the rice, and I stir and mix it to perfection.”
Narrator: Asha and Rupai laughed, imagining all the characters working together. They decided to dance around Dheki, singing a song about the tireless rice grinder.
The Dheki Song:
“Dheki, Dheki, never stops,
Grinding rice, without a drop.
In heaven or on earth so bright,
Dheki works both day and night.
With Chutki, Kamal, Ghora too,
And Pala mixing in the stew.
Together we prepare the feast,
For gods and villagers, the very least!”
As they danced and sang, even Dheki seemed to join in, its rhythmic pounding creating a melody of its own.
The Lesson:
Narrator: Dadi Ma looked at the children and said, “Remember, my dear ones, dedication and hard work are important. Just like Dheki, who never stops, we too should be devoted to our duties. And no matter where we are, we can always make a difference.”
Narrator: Asha and Rupai nodded, understanding the importance of the lesson. They knew that Dheki’s tireless efforts were not just about grinding rice but also about showing them the value of perseverance and dedication.
And so, in the village, the legend of Dheki, the tireless rice grinder, continued to inspire children and adults alike. They laughed, danced, and always remembered to put their best foot forward, just like Dheki.
